Shark Fishing

David's friend TJ took us shark fishing this weekend on Big Shell just south of Corpus Christi. We camped on the beach Friday and Saturday. We caught a ton of whiting (a type of fish) which we used as shark bait and also cooked on the camp fire and ate for dinner. I can't blame the sharks for wanting to eat them! TJ hooked what he thought was a shark but it turned out to be a big turtle (kemp ridley's turle). We called animal rescue and they came and picked it up the next morning. Then, right before we were all packed up, TJ caught a Black tip shark! It was 5'10" and weight about 110lb. It also turned out to be pregnant and TJ did a quick c section and we let 6 baby sharks swim off into the ocean. It was pretty neat! We had a great weekend!
